This does bring up the question, motorcycle chains; It seems to me they take more abuse and last a lot longer. I'm changing my bicycle chains at least once a year. More like twice a year. Never had to worry about the chains on my motorcycles. Lubed them every once in a while. What's the difference?

Internal gearing and external shielding for the chain?
