Hi. For my first thread I thought I would ask a fairly non-controversial question.
I would choose pure black or pure white with no logos or any other detailing. My Disc Trucker is now pure black after I removed all the yucky Surly advertisments from it.
Other acceptable colours for a bike are British Racing Green, olive, fluorescent creamy orange and fluorescent copper.
Unacceptable colours are, of course, grey, silver, yellow and certain namby-pamby shades of blue.
Unfortunately, some of my other bikes sport the forbidden hues, but I love them anyway.

Ha ha.
I got a custom Gunnar frame built a couple years ago, and one of the standard colors (they rotate periodically) was called "Monetary Green." I didn't even make the connection, but my wife suggested that I choose it. I'm an economist.

Mine might as well be the color of trail dust.
On second thought, that would be harder to see where to clean.
I like the metallic blue on my old Schwinn but maybe with not quite so much rust on it.

One reason for a custom bike was the custom color; had a DeRosa that previously was metallic jade green and wanted another like it, color is very close to a medium brunswick greed but was discontinued. Settled on ultra illusion green but through a mixup ended up with a green even closer to exactly what I was looking for based on old pics.
Had a pearl white over Ti which was a pretty one. Also wouldn't mind Mazda's soul red in a bike paint job.

I hope the black, crimson, and white I chose for my Project One bike will be my favorite or I made an expensive mistake.
Otherwise I'd choose black and orange. But that clashes with all my cycling gear.

A few years ago, Cannondale had a Gulf Racing color scheme on their CAAD. I thought that was terrific and if I ever did a custom paint job that would be something I would consider.

For me, raw titanium with raw carbon fork and pink accents. I don't have the cash yet for ti, so I had mine sprayed with titanium gray and prison pink H series Cerakote. With silver 105 groupset.

The red, blue, yellow, green of the Dean logo...repeated throughout the bike even down to spoke nipples colors.

The traditional Moots green.

Red really pops on a white bike

And blue is splendid with silver.

But when Specialized hands you a hideous green, you just have to embrace it and go for purple to contrast it.

As it would be steel or Ti, black (Glossy or Satin) with a gloss red panel on the seat tube with a narrow red band above and below the panel. Downtube bike name in white. If lugged steel, a red head tube; if unlugged black, but either with a metal head tube badge. With a steel frame, a stainless or chromed front fork.
Of course that is finished by a careful selection of silver components and tan sidewall tires (Rene Herse) and either silver rims or black rims with machined braking surfaces.
But after seeing the bike in Post #19, I would really look hard at that gray option with red panels. That bike reminds me of the first natural matte gray Teledyne Titan I ever saw. Is that the heat cured Cerakote? It is very durable.
