Bikebuster.com?
Has anyone had any experience with this website? Evidently it originates in Denmark and offers super low prices on bike stuff. I'm ready to order a Centaur groupset at $517.00 but I'm holding off till I can find out more. It would figure that the exchange rate may have something to do with their pricing. I found it listed on Froogle.

Become a "member" and you will start receiving their e-mail adverts in Danish.
I thought of buying something, but after reading the website I wasn't sure I had accounted for all of the charges that would apply. There seemed to be a currency conversion fee...I wasn't totally clear on that. The "bonus" thing confused me at first, until I realized that the "bonus" price sneakily subtracted credits that are actually toward FUTURE purchases, and not the actual price of the item. Still, the prices were good without them anyway. Freight charges outside of Denmark seemed to be a hefty $32, and then these internet retailers often tack on extra freight charges after the purchase, once they've got hold of your credit card number.

They had a $140 pair of sunglasses advertised at $80. By the time I got to final checkout... guess what.. with fees and S&H the order came to over $150. They wanted $52 to ship sunglasses!!! Oh yeah, then the spam started coming and I didn't register for a password or even complete the transaction
I would stay far away from that place.

I haven't pulled the trigger on any deal, but I did go so far as to register and get the final charges from the checkout. I know from travelling in France there's always a currency exchange commission. In My case, I was looking at a Campy Centaur triple groupset for a grand total of $500 INCLUDING $42 shipping and that commission. This I compared to a couple USA websites at $699 (Lickbike, Reparto Corse). Bikebuster Included 3x10 Crankset, BB, F&R derailleurs, F&R brakeset, cassette, and Ergolevers. There wasn't anyplace to specify Ital. or Eng. BB or cassette specs, tho it listed choice of 12-25 or 13-26. I Emailed them to clarify and I'm interested in the response. Meantime, I found a few older posts on this forum with a couple positive experiences. Anyone else want to weigh in? Thanks!!!

240$ shades for 80$ , they rock, tossed a seat in there for a pertty decent price too, yeah, shipping was 32$ but I came out for less than the cost of the shades, and I got a good seat.
yeah, the danish ads show up, but whatever, it's the least offensive spam I get.

Whew! I did pull the trigger and it made me very nervous. However, my complete Campy Centaur triple group arrived today at $512 including the shipping and currency exchange fee. Communication with Bikebuster.com is very difficult- I had to Email 3 times to get them to send tracking information IN ENGLISH. I still haven't gotten it, but the Items were delivered today in good order. All original Campy packing except the triple crankset was loose w/o box. Group included Ergolevers, FD, RD, brakeset, 10 speed triple crank, 13-26 cassette, BB, chain, and cables. It will look purty on my Colnago Technos frameset. Good luck if you take the plunge with these people.

I live in England. bought a Wilier Izoard XP Athena from them for around £1650, plus another £70 or so for exchange fee, shipping etc. They sent the wrong wheels, Fulcrum R7 instead of R5. They wouldn't take them back for a swap, they gave me 1000DK 'compensation', about £130 Sterling, but you can only spend it in their shop. I used it in part payment for R3 wheels, but they were so expensive that it wiped out the discount anyway - I could have got the wheels in England for the same. Still, I got a spare pair of cheap wheels. They can be rude and difficult to deal with. On the whole I'm not happy with them, but you might be lucky.
