Shopping on Aliexpress for bike parts

Does anyone here buy bike parts from Aliexpress? I'm looking at 10 speed stuff and chainrings. Is it trustable and reliable ? legit parts?

Never had a issue. Numerous Shimano components, bike packing bags, clothing, misc. bike hardware. Delivery takes a bit other than that all good.

I just stated using them and have bought 3 things in the last 3 months.

A small seatpost wheel for my folding bike ~$11.

A replacement rear reflector for my folding bike ~$3.

A carrying bag for my folding bike ~$21...should be here this week after ordering 3 weeks ago.

The seatpost wheel was better quality than I expected.

The reflector appeared used, as it was slightly scuffed in one small area, but not an issue for me, or for $3. I don;t remember the posting mentioning used, but again...$3.

The bag is the same as is being sold by many sources on Amazon and Ali Express, but this outlet was the least expensive when shipping was considered.

It seems as if AliExpress' english isn't always so good. I received a notice about the bag's shipment, and I wasn't sure if it meant it had shipped or if it was delayed.

I buy many parts and consumables from AliExpress now. I haven't had problems, with component groups, wheelsets, tubular tires or fedoras.

You will have to wait for delivery. You must be willing to communicate regularly with sellers, and to wait for responses. You can get what you want.

I now have two framesets on order. One has reached U.S. shores. The other has been fabricated, but I'm waiting on actual measurements of the frame before approving its shipment to me.

I recently got a set of 24" wheels. They seem pretty good.

Alibaba and his forty thieves. Legit, who knows but certainly plenty of cheap stuff if price is your only point they probably have plenty of high quality jen-yoo-wine Shemano parts. Buy the YTR it is one better than XTR

I've bought two things from Aliexpress in the past.

1. No-brand carbon seatpost. Still going strong on the bike. Build quality isn't quite top notch, but it's doing the job.

2. Knock off "3T" carbon handlebars. So flexy I could twist them with my bare (weakling road cyclist) hands! Never fitted them to a bike. Made a good wall hanger.

You pay your money, you take your chances...

I buy stuff from the Chinese domestic version of AliExpress called Taobao all the time. I've bought chainrings, chains, cranks and bottom brackets, derailleurs, shifters, brakes, saddles, bags, lights, GPS units, tires...you name a bike part, I've probably bought one off of Taobao at one point or another. Never had any issues. Parts that were supposed to be genuine brands (I've bought stuff from Shimano, Brooks, Schhwalbe, and Fulcrum, among others) always were.

I've bought a lot of non-critical things from alirxpress, ie shiny bar tape, little Garmin mounts, valve caps..
And I've also bought a carbon seatpost which I've been using for roughly 4000km now, so far so good!

As with everything, look at the specs, the reviews, and the price. You do get what you pay for.

I purchased a complete bike on Taobao once. I was living in Taizhou when I got it.

I wouldn't. Stuff is super low priced for a reason.
