Are we talking bananas with a little tinge of green on the edges of the peel or little brown spots all over?
I like 'em citrusy so yellow with green edges. When they go yellow with brown dots they are too sweet for my taste.

DATE has 94% more potassium than banana - date has 696mg of potassium per 100 grams and banana has 358mg of potassium.
Dates go in the GORP mix when backpacking. Along with dried apricots. Dates are awesome.

The over-ripe mushy ones go into overnight oats with peanut butter and cinnamon.

The not so mushy ones get eaten as a snack.

According to Dole sponsored study Bananas are better than sugar water for inflammation... but may cause bloating.

Metabolic recovery from heavy exertion following banana compared to sugar beverage or water only ingestion: A randomized, crossover trial

Conclusions

CHO ingestion from bananas or a sugar beverage had a comparable influence in attenuating metabolic perturbation and inflammation following 75-km cycling. Ex-vivo analysis with THP-1 monocytes supported a decrease in COX-2 mRNA expression and reduced reliance on glycolysis for ATP production following ingestion of bananas but not sugar water when compared to water alone.
Participants reported more fullness and bloating, and reduced muscle cramping, following the two banana and sugar beverage trials compared to the water trial. No trial differences were found for symptoms of diarrhea or nausea/vomiting
Dates are my natural energy packet. Just remove pits ahead of time.

I like bananas. My wife thinks they're disgusting (texture thing). However, she makes excellent banana bread that my daughter and I both enjoy very much.

I meant Italian Ices. After all these years, I might not have the terminology correct. It use to come in those waxy, corrugated cups.

There are some people who say that the magnesium in bananas helps prevent cramps.

Hmm, never thought of pb and bananas in my overnight oatmeal; usually dried fruit and nuts. I'll have to give that a try, thanks!

I've heard this as well. I do know that when it's late in the evening and when I sometimes forget to drink water a tall glass of water and a sliced banana helps keep me from wanting to raid the fridge and I don't feel as hungry after

I won't go into the whole backstory, but let's just say I was given this as a gift after reacting "inappropriately" to someone eating a banana during one of our corporate meetings.

Bananas is one of my least favorite Woody Allen films. Actually, I like the more serious ones, like Interiors and Another Woman.
