The manufactured crisis (covid pricing) continues on...
What we really need is people buying more toilet paper and less bikes.

I'm not for raising prices but I am pretty sure that costs have gone up across the board for most things due to shut downs, labor costs/issues and delays for about everything. Unless you think Coviid isn't much of a thing. As a veteran healthcare worker in a major medical center I can assure that it is.

Are you saying someone managed to create global supply chains in such a way that once a global pandemic hit, their plan for increased prices would happen?
...hopefully I misunderstood your post.

I'm not sure I understand this. Is investing in our infrastructure a bad thing ? I know Cancun Cruz thinks its about socialism but I kinda like roads and bridges and internet. I kept waiting for Trumps infrastructure week to produce but it never did. Turns out governing is hard.
Anyway is this gonna help or hurt brand pricing,...or do you think pandemic that has killed over 700,000 Americans is a manufactured crisis t make the price of a Madone go up 300 bucks ?

I do know what his administration has done as far as pressuring terminals to accept more ships and cans has hindered efficient cargo movement.
The basic idea is similar to not being able to park ever more cars in your driveway and expect to get them in and out in a time efficient manner.
This is a pretty good explanation.

Trump had an infrastructure plan. But at the time it seemed congress was more interested in opposing Trump than considering an infrastructure plan.

The pandemic isn't a manufactured crisis...But all of the alleged supply chain problems and increased prices on goods is a manufactured crisis. As they say...never let a crisis (covid in this case) go to waste. The supplies we all needed in general were there or would have been there if the workers were still in place...The problem lies in the absence of labor caused in part by the Democratic politicians giving unemployment benefits in amounts that exceeded what many in labor would receive while working and then couple that with programs that wouldn't let landlords evict people for not paying rent and then POOF! all of sudden you have supply chain problems and increased prices.
If a virus that is generally quite manageable creates this much disruption...I hate to think what would happen if we had some sort of real crisis on our hands.

Great, the 2022 Trek Farley 9.6 that seems to only exist as a single web image that isn’t available will become more expensive. Maybe I’ll buy a Fezzari or Canyon fat bike. Oh wait they’re not available either.

The labor shortage has been building for years and will continue as the boomers like myself retire and the numbers to replace them don't exist. We couldn't find people before the pandemic and are paying over union scale to keep or get staff.

Also worth mentioning is that after negotiations that seemed to be progressing another meeting was called with Pelosi and Schumer that the president attended for about 3 minutes before dramatically leaving (the political equivalent of I am taking my ball and going home if you ask me) and holding a press conference with a big "No Collusion, No Obstruction" sign.
There was precious little help from his own party for his agenda with the exception of the judiciary and his tax cuts. The tax cuts have not paid for themselves and now we are in a terrible spot financially with the GOP resisting raising the debt limit to make the Dem's look bad. They had no problems raising it for Trump. The GOP also held a supreme court seat for 10 months with a Dem president and rushed one through in the last few weeks of Trumps.
I'm not a bleeding heart by any means but the hypocrisy is astounding. At least we have Ted Cruz to protect us from Big Bird.
I was going to buy a new Trek this spring to get into mountain biking but I may see where inflation is going first. I also need a lot of motorcycle maintenance done this spring so I am probably holding off.

You political commentators either cannot exercise self-restraint or are unfamiliar with forum rules.
