Hmm...Cheshire Cat. Perhaps Lewis Carroll?

I find no mention of it. Born in 1832, he would have been in his 50s in the Penny-farthing era and in his 60s and final decade during the rise of the safety bike.

Apparently, he took a picture of his brother on one: Wilfred Longley Dodgson on a bicycle, photo by Lewis Carroll. https://sites.utexas.edu/ransomcente...029_300dpi.jpg

And what mean all these mysteries to me,
Whose life is full of indices and surds?
x^2 + 7x + 53

If 10 year old Alice was riding a bike, Charles Dodgson was probably into it.

We have a Carol Lewis where I work. I'm off from work today (Friday), so I'll ask her on Monday.

No connection to bicycles is turning up for me. He might've had an endorsement deal for exercycles but that's probably it.
