How Do You Store Your Bikes?
As this became my solution for bike storage, it made me wonder what other people do. So do you have pictures to share of how you store your bikes? Simply curious.

The same arrangement, but in the garage.
|
Mine are hung vertically by front wheel wall hooks, set at staggered heights to accommodate the handlebars.
|
I'm lazy and single so just leaning against whatever in my house. Currently there are two in my spare bedroom and two in my kitchen and one in the attic.
|
At present in the garage we have 5 leaning against things, 1 on a kick stand, and 1 in an A frame for the wifes knee operation recovery...
I'll get around to building some bike racks eventually... |
Here is my solution. Use the hangers that hold the pedels and you can get 3 high on a wall.

My wife said all the bicycles in the living room "make the place look like a frat house", so now my bedroom looks like a bicycle shop... |
Leaned on the handle bar to the wall...
|
I have a stand that the wheel rests in. Park em over by the motorcycles.
|
I have four bikes, my wife has one, they all have kickstands except for my old road bike which I lean against the wall inside the shed. The other bikes stand on their own next to each other and locked together inside the locked shed.
|
The bike and the trike hang upside down on hooks in the garage.
|
No pics necessary. I keep my Achielle Roadster in my locked garage year round, and my two Colnago's are in the family room year around, on the floor, out of the way.
|
After getting tired of having bikes leaning against each other and cluttering up the basement, I finally put up a 2x4 and some hooks to organize them. Much better!
https://i.imgur.com/Br4XX31.jpg The hooks are 12" apart, and bikes alternate directions to fit better. |
Not necessarily my favorite, but it does what I want without taking up a tremendous amount of space. I do enjoy how the hooks are able to slide around on the mount.

Let's see, I've got 6 hanging from the ceiling in the garage (ceiling is unusually tall so I don't have to duck to clear them), 2 hanging on the walls inside, 2 leaning against whatever wall happens to be least in the way, the trike is parked next to the dining table and 2 more live at my brother's shop. I really need a two car garage.

Eric F That's a really nice Aguilar rig you got over there, but I only see guitars. Let's see the basses!

I have had 2 road bikes hanging from hooks and a MTB bike with a kickstand in my basement. This year I added two road e-bikes and a hardtail and a full suspension mountain bike and needed a different approach. All the walls in the garage either have cabinets mounted or Gorilla shelving. So my solution was to buy a prefab plastic 8 x 7.5 foot shed from Lifetime and I put it together over a weekend. I added roughly 50 sq feet of floor space and so have 4 bikes inside on floor stands supporting the rear tires.

But with better storage, you'll have room for more bikes! :thumb:
I never said there was only one bike against the bar, now did I !!! Shhhhhh Barry |
Found these recently at a neighborhood garage sale. I had to remove them from that garage in order to install them in mine. These permitted me to vacate several wall hooks, but others are still in use on an adjacent wall. The space is evolving and those wall hooks may also go away.
https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...dc1dc79f7e.jpg Of course, once those hooks were empty they got drafted for wheel storage duty. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...9f180e2012.jpg |

Here's an older pic that shows more of that half of my garage. Quite a few more instruments in the cases on the shelf, and others in the house. Before I got back into cycling 2 years ago, the whole area was for music - playing and recording. There is a drink kit broken down and tucked away off to the right of this pic.

I have all of them leaning against the wall in the side garage. Once the weather starts getting cold and the snow starts to fly I move them to a spare room in the house basement.
|
In my basement

Luckily, our building has a fob access only bike room in the basement, which is where I store my bike now. Mine’s the Colnago. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...4d10d7b5e.jpeg |
Also, in the basement.
