MIPS Question

Good Day, As I wrecked my favorite helmet last week I'm looking to replace. First thought was to go with MIPS. But after studying the tech behind MIPS, a question came to mind that I've been unable to find an answer to so I'm hoping someone with a MIPS helmet can answer it for me.
DOES THE SHELL FEEL LOOSE WHEN YOU RIDE OVER BUMPS?
I mount a mirror and occasionally a camera on my helmet and I don't want either one to be vibrating when I'm on chip seal or some such surface. Looking forward to hearing from those of you with a MIPS helmet. TIA

It doesn't feel loose.

Mine don't.

No.

Nope for a MIPs Bell, Lazer, Giro and Bontrager helmets over the years.

You will have a chinstrap and rear adjuster to fit your helmet to your noggin for your preferences.

Not all MIPs is exactly the same. Other than minor fit differences, I can't tell the difference between my S-works MIPs helmet I got last year or any other helmet I've had or tried on whether MIPS or not.

Perhaps some of the stuff on the internet you stumbled upon was some old information about the earlier MIPs helmets when they first showed up years and years ago.

Another no from me. At least for the 2 MIPS helmets I wear.

I appreciate all the responses. With this information I feel much better about stepping up to a MIPs helmet. While my old helmet protected me just fine, most of the damage to it is obviously from sliding along the asphalt and not a direct impact (my knee and shoulder absorbed that). It's amazing how far you will slide on asphalt when you're only going 20mph or so and that's only because I had a good tail wind, haha. Thanks again for all the quick responses,

No difference in fit or feel for me.

MIPS wouldn't work well if the helmet wobbled around on your head. It only provides a bit of slip (to protect your head from rotational forces) under impact.

Not that I've noticed.

Nope

Since the concern is more micro-vibrating and being able to see scenes reflected thru a helmet-mounted mirror, I don't know if I could say that the MIPS hard shell isn't vibrating more or less than a standard non-MIPs helmet. IOW I'm not sure one would be able to detect the shell is vibrating, since it's not the part directly clamped on the head. I think OP needs feedback from riders who actually use a mirror on their MIPs helmet.

I have a 2014 POC Trabec helmet with perhaps 25,000 miles. This was the first bright colored MIPS helmet I saw that fit. I've used a helmet mounted mirror the whole time. The fit has been solid the whole time and mirror vibration is probably the least of any helmet I've used. (Easily the best helmet I've owned to mount a camera on though I am going to stay camera free probably another helmet or two.)

I use a EVT safety mirror on a Giro Vanquish or Lazer helmet and cannot detect any vibration due to mips.

Thanks guys. After all the comments and especially the understanding of why I asked the question, I'm going to get a new MIPs helmet tomorrow and quit over thinking it haha. Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate it.
