Watch the video to the end, funniest outcome possible!

According to the comments in this one, driver was arrested and the cops made him apologize:

Funny stuff. Question about the beginning where the car passes the bike. From the front camera you can see angry guy is hugging the cars to his right. He didn't look that close to the bike to me. Was he not suppose to pass the bike at all on that street? To me both these guys are ****** bags. Not sure what did the bike rider hoped to gain by escalating the situation.

Yeah, even though the end is pretty hilarious with the driver taking a tumble, I feel like the cyclist chasing down a motorist is kind of a dumb move. Flip the bird and move on if you feel the need.

I ride places where there are no MUPs and places where there are MUPs. I have ridden on paths that go through homeless encampments, but very few of them do. You may very well have homeless people living near you, btw, they're often camping in places you won't notice. I've never been attacked on a bicycle or chased, although a couple of fools attempted to lure me into some bushes in order to mug me about 20 years ago--the only reason they were able to talk to me at all was because I was riding in a park with my then 6 y.o. son so I couldn't just take off. When they saw my kid trailing behind on his bike, they told me to "never mind". I guess there's some honor among thieves after all or maybe they were just worried about compounding felonies.

I often will ride from one place that has MUPs to another that doesn't. Am I engaged in interplanetary travel? Who knew?

On maybe only one in a thousand rides was I ever a targeted by a criminal.
However, if I was victimized, robbed, assaulted, murdered, maimed (hit-and-run), that one outlier would be life altering or life ending.

So I try to minimize risks and avoid areas and situations that would make me a statistical outlier.
In SoCal, I think MUPS, in certain areas, at certain times of the day, are areas I want to avoid.

I agree that there are obvious situations to avoid due to risk, but riding on the Katy doesn't seem to be one that would raise any red flags.

The one time someone attempted to mug me in 50+ years of bicycle riding was in Prescott Park in downtown Portsmouth NH, hardly what anyone would think of as a high-crime area.

There's a path in Nashua I won't ride on because I really have no confidence I couldn't be ambushed successfully there. In that case, I prefer to ride on the parallel streets.

I bet it was a $ 10 000 carbon bike with $ 3000 dollar carbon wheels, it's no wonder the damage is so expensive.

Is that a $10,000 bike without the wheels, making it a $13,000 bike, or does the $10,000 figure include the $3,000 carbon wheels?

I bet no one cares, but I thought I would ask anyway.

Shame on you for bringing math into this obviously very important discussion.

I'm drawing the line of overly-conspicuous consumption for its own sake at carbon training wheels, Arguably, there might be significant weight savings there, but still...

Next week: e-balance bikes.

Waaay OT, but here is some next-level conspicuous consumption involving carbon fiber.

Wheels included....but no pedals. You gotta spend $ 200 on pedals and another $ 300 on special shoes which matches the bike.

“roid rage”. Love it! There was a local cycling group with matching jerseys that read “Hemoriders”.

In several decades of cycling I have had just about everything you can imagine happen to me, (including be shot at) and I just keep as far right as possible and don’t give anyone grief. There are just those kind of people out there. Can’t imagine getting in a gun fight with just my bike and them in a pickup with a weapon. So many ways to die.

5500 miles? No way! Didn't happen! There, see how easy it is to spew crap? Anyway, I knew you had to have the last word. Insecure people like you are so predictable.

Looking up posting frequency? For real? It’s right there on the left, under his name and AV! Are you really that oblivious? No, what’s really dangerous is him thinking he knows whose sock puppet I am. Now he’ll direct his anger at an innocent member. That’s a real danger. After all, he has exhibited a lack of anger management.

Edit: Or maybe it was the simple math of averaging that confused you. Posts over number of days? Better call Einstein!

Don't need to worry because of the area, then mugged in a nice area! Now that's a self own! Also, way to vindicate me LOL!

Since you brought it up, I saw this later on:

https://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/3-...&ICID=ref_fark

The relevant part:

“GPD says the gunman was wearing a baseball hat, a blue surgical mask, and dark-colored athletic shorts. He was not wearing a shirt.

Remember, LDLions started this. My original post didn’t refer to him or anyone else. He took it upon himself to insult me and try to dominate me. He’s a bully, and I love putting guys like that in their place, which isn’t too difficult here, the arguments are so weak. Again, I didn't start this. You guys should really reflect on why you feel personally offended and need to jump on people when it doesn't involve you in any way. After all, isn't that what people are saying in the thread about giving unsolicited advice? To keep your comments to yourself? Hypocrites. Then again LDL seems like the type to arrogantly offer his "expertise" to strangers. Emphasis on arrogant.

Bet you can't keep you mouth shut this time, either.
