Best Free Road Biking App?

Hey folks,
Looking for a free app that will just cover the basics. Distance, speed, average speed, route, etc. Used one called Road Bike for many years but with the latest system upgrade to my phone it no longer works. Any suggestions? Thanks

CycleMeter. Free. If you pay you get sensor support. i've used the free version on iPhone, and Android. the pay version on Android now.

I second cyclemeter free but I think if you use it a bit, you won't mind paying the 10 bucks a year for the extra features it offers.

right, i started paying about 2 years ago this memorial day weekend. i wanted sensor feedback for cadence and HRM. their customer support is the best support for any product i have had to use. got me up and running over the last memorial day weekend when i switched from iphone to android. really a great outfit.

From the top of my head, I can suggest Strava and Relive. Both have free features that cover the distance, average speed, elevation gain, moving time, etc.
Relive also has a cool feature that allows you to compose a nice video (3D presentation) with your ride.

Appreciate the input, everyone. I'll load these onto my phone and see which one I like best. Thanks!

Ride Spot does most of the things Strava does, including act as a real time cyclocomputer (which Strava charges for). I think it even imports your rides to Strava if you want to keep track of that as well.

I bought a Topeak weatherproof holder for my iPhone, and in the package it recommended an app called Panobike. I have always been a fan of Topeak stuff, and I really like their Panobike app. It's free, it does the basic stuff, and I like the way the info is displayed.

I like Fitmeter Bike Basic, but I think it’s only for iPhones, couldn’t find it on an android app search.
