Can't recall a saddle that was uncomfortable but I haven't had many. I used the same Cinelli in the 80's/90's and now have a Selle Italia Carbon Superflow Boost SLR (122g lightweight model), Bontrager Montrose Pro and a Selle Italia X-LR carbon (MTB). All are comfortable for all day in the saddle for me despite being the lesser padded type that are focused upon being light.

I'm a sucker for a great looking and different saddle, I've been using a Fizik Versus Evo R1 for a couple of years now, with just shorts it's actually painful to ride on but when I wear my female branded super padded lycia shorts it's like sitting on a different saddle and I can ride all day. I've got a couple of mates who now swear by ladies padded lycra shorts now!

I suspect I have trained myself to like the WTB Silverado, narrow size, to the exclusion of pretty much everything else. I've always been lucky in that I can pretty much ride on anything, but now I pretty much swap out everything for that particular saddle.

If anything, butts vary more than feet, so while it may be frustrating, I don't think it's unusual to need a particular seat in order to be remotely comfortable.

Unfortunately for my wallet, I've probably been through 20 saddles. The saddle I've gotten along with the most has been the Specialized Power Expert. But I've had one big problem with it because it rubs on the back of my legs. I tried the Pro Stealth Curved saddle and it has solved the back of my leg rubbing and I thnk it might be my soul mate. I have the first 2/3rd level and it has a swoop in the back to push against while climbing. I like the Pro Stealth Curve better than the regular Pro Stealth.
