It's not a part that I can ever remember needing to replace on a bike and if I was building a new bike I would be using 12 speed SRAM.

I've seen that usually front derailleurs are discounted so much because the mounting system is odd. In fact, I believe this fr does not have the tube bracket, but screws directly into the frame. If your frame is tapped for that, then you've found a great bargain.
