Could be a good plan for a chronic miscreant to wave at cops. They might hesitate before administering an attitude adjustment during the next ride to the station. Carrying a box of donuts might be even better. Hmmm, what's the best way to carry donuts on a bike?

I have had a couple of negative interactions where their ego was out of control but there are bad apples everywhere. On the other hand, I have had dozens of good conversations with sheriff deputies, state troopers and fish and wildlife officers. Like someone else said, they are just people too and appreciate normal interactions with the public and not just the constant lying and dealing with the underbelly of society. I appreciate the service they provide and am fortunate to be an old white guy and thus not profiled. They have boring work, punctuated by moments of terror, adrenaline, and gruesome scenes that most people couldn’t live down. (I know they chose that line of work). Everyone has their own experience, their own race and their own perspective. That’s cool. This is just mine.

So it looks like this thread has devolved into a topic that will only lead to trouble.
