Mounting Rear Light
Would love to purchase this new rear light. This is the problem. My mounted under the seat bag leaves no room on the post to mount it. I read that a seatstay mount would make it less visible.

Don't have exactly the thing but I mount mine on the seat stay and it is fine. Mine was cheaper from lbs and can be angled. If you're doing it for daytime riding then you probably want to be able to aim it like I can.

Could you sew (or have sewn) a vertical strip of tough fabric to your seat bag? Or maybe punch two holes thru the seat bag, then pop rivet a tough piece of fabric vertically.

I solved the “no room under the seat bag” problem by replacing the seat bag with a seat roll.
Lots of room now.

My seat bag came with just such a strip sewn across the back for this purpose and that's where I hang my tail light.

I strap one to the back of my helmet. That puts it up high enough to be easily visible. I had one person ask if it was a camera. It's not, but if thinking it might be a camera makes people behave better when they're overtaking me, I'll count that as a win.

My wife rides an XS frame, and does not have the space to mount a light on the seat post. I put a large zip tie around the seat rails and clip the light onto that, it sits nicely at the back of her seat bag.

I have one just like that on the back of my helmet. The good thing is that for only having two LED's in it, it's really bright.

I tried mounting on the seat stay with Bontrager Flare mount and found it would swivel outboard. I suppose I could have mastered that, but found it easier to change the seat bag, which I didn't like.

if you're gonna use the fabric strip on back of seatbag to mount the light, do like dedhed mentioned and reinforce it. I've only ever lost lights when they were clipped to that bag loop.

Well, it helps to mount it on the roadside seat stay.
There are all kinds of clamps and straps for mounting lights .... yes, you need to angle the light optimally for optimal visibility (which is why I don't like clipping the light on my seat bag, where it invariably points a little downward) so just do a little research on bicycle tail light mounts and choose what you like best.

I have had numerous tail lights and have the same problem. I recently got a new bike with sloping top tube so there is more room for a light mounted to the seat post.
I decided to get a Bontrager Flare RT which is a really nice light
But it was still being obscured by the seat bag. My bag has a strip to mount a light to but it is angled down.
I cobbled my own clip that angles the light upward and that solved the problem.
Bontrager makes a seat stay clip which has adjustable angle so the light will be visible.

No pictures, but I have a rack on the back of all my bicycles (I know, the shame of a total 'rookie' move) and I can clip a light onto the rear of those racks. I also have a tool bag I mount on the racks (I swap it between bikes as needed) that can accept a clip-on light. Racks are a mix of both seatpost racks and braze-on attached racks.
