funny stuff
Bike has been hanging in shed for 18 years. All my accessories in a Tupperware box.
So I get the urge, find the time and ..first thing is to clean up that ugly bar wrap job that came from Taiwan.. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...d6da7be33d.jpg |

... So I grabbed the gear, including the black gloves I had been using 18 years ago...

When you pass me or I pass you on the road, your bars aren't going to be what I notice!
What's the rest of the bike look like? |

Don't believe I've ever seen a Bianchi that color. Is that yellow for the Tour de France?
However even Sheldon saw the advantage of upgrading components on bikes. I bet a 11 speed Shimano or SRAM group will do a lot for that bike! Here is a note from his personal bike page. So evidently he once had a Bianchi Brava. 1990? Bianchi BravaJapanese Bianchi road bike, originally came with with Shimano Santé derailers...early 7-speed setup. I built up a pair of rather light tubular wheels for it, just for the retro-kick (and 'cause the rims and tires were free!) It's not that retro, though, 'cause it's got Ultegra STI shifters with an Erickson "Gizzmo" triple adaptor, and 28/38/50 Biopace chainwheels. It is now a 24-speed, with a 12-25 cluster, STX rear, modified RSX front derailersNice bike regardless of whether you choose keep it original or not! |

Cool looking bike just the same..... |
No Idea where the color came from. I just know it was a good price on a bike that fit my frame on the day I had the urge. I do know that the Brava's were built in Taiwan and they really did a sh1tty job wrapping that bar tape. It was not even rolled into the end caps. But I was too green to notice it when I got it.
Great riding bike .. if I can resolve the front derailleur issue I am fighting with. (in the mechanic's forum) If I stay with it, a second bike will be a gravel bike .. with a better gearset than this Sora. |

LOL I was going to ask if it was the Celeste "Eggshell" variant color.
Cool looking bike just the same..... I seem to recall seeing one when I went to the Bianchi store at their factory in Treviglio for a stage finish of the ‘95 Giro, but I could be mistaken. That was so long ago. |
18 yr old cycling gloves? very surprising. how are they holding up?
