I find that the best nicknames are the ones that are acquired organically; usually given by your riding buddies. If you have to explain to people why you call your bike something, it’s not a very good nickname.
I’ve had a couple of bikes that acquired nicknames over the years; my 93 Raleigh MTB sported a SCOTT AT-4 wraparound handlebar that I had applied neon orange leopard print bar tape (it was the 90s, and it was Rad!) That bike became known as “Chester Cheetah” or the “Cheeto Bike” by my riding crew
The SoftRide earned the moniker “Gonzo’s Nose” during a weeklong event. I’d had to re-tape the bars the night before we set off, and blue was all I could get my hands on. SoftRides are already unusual looking bikes, and the bar tape gave it a passing resemblance to a certain blue-beaked Wierdo From Outer Space.
Most of the time, though, it’s just “the orange one” or “the white one “ since my current fleet of 5 are pretty distinct from each other. (Although of my Cannondales are black, one’s road and the other’s an MTB)

I overheard them talking. I think they have a nickname for me.

My FIRST ride on the Day 6 Semi Recumbent was begun shortly after MIDNIGHT under a star studded sky. After a couple hours of cruising around I decided to head home and fortuitously looked up to see a FIREBALL traversing the sky. When I got home I hit the computer and registered the sighting and waited. A few days later the SIGHTING was VARIFIED as a FIREBALL since other people in 4 states also reported it.
FIREBALL is now mainly used as my *GROCERY GRABBER*

I refer to my Specialized Sirrus 6.0 as "Sirius Black" since it is matte black. Haven't found a good name for my Diverge yet.

I'm normally a make, model and color guy but while not a human name it did seem appropriate to call this one "Big Bird". Besides it's easier to say than "the big old Yellow Schwinn Varsity".

I just call them by the names the factory gave them.

I do give my bikes names. Candy, Shef, Titty, Granny (tbc).
They all have ladies names, because I dont ride blokes.
Simple. As. That.

Nope. I refer to them by their serial numbers. Helps that the builder retired with fewer than a thousand to his name. The brown Trek 510 3 speed is just called the townie or utility bike.
