DC/VA/MD Riders _ Checking Interest

Would any of you be interested in getting together for a BF ride somewhere in the area this fall?

If the day selected doesn't conflict with races I'm scheduled to run, then I'm up for the ride.

As long as my wife isn't working the night before... I'll have to watch my son if she is.

Can any of the Marylanders recommend a good LBS? I wanna play too someday but I gotta get my butt on a bike first.

I'd be interested, but my schedule is often quite full . Let me know when though and I'll see if I can make it.

Although I would like to point out that there are probably some significant variances in rider skill/endurance level... So I dunno what kind of ride you had in mind (25 mile, 50, century, 10 mph average, 20 mph average, etc), but that will probably affect people's interest as well.

Sure. Were've you been haven't heard from you in a long time. The MS150 was good too bad you didn't make it.

Sure. Good idea.

Maybe we do one of the PP routes where multiple distances are involved to allow people choices of distance and speed. We could all ride together for the first few miles, then split up based on preferences, and maybe meet together at the endn

Joe
Things have been a bit rough, my wedding got cancelled and i changed jobs again. I still have the MS150 on the top of my list of things I want to accomplish, so hopefully next year I will have my act together.

I was thinking one of two things, we could do a ride from the Bike Virginia book or we could plan to meet up at a planned event this fall. I am going through the book to pick a few that would be some what central to everyone. Hopefully we could pull this off for sometime in the fall, when the weather is less humid.

I would have to recommend Proteus Bikes in College Park. They're super friendly, the guys are pretty laid back, and they always seem helpful.

College Park bikes has a big selection of old stuff, but they carry more "high end" stuff and seem to cater to that clientel. They're good if you know what you're looking for, but maybe not so much for a lost newbie.

CityBikes in Chevy Chase. Right along the Crescent Trail at CT Ave.

I like Silver Cycles -- 9330 Georgia Ave in Silver Spring. They are laid back and willing to take the time with newbies and the non-racing crowd. But there are a lot of good shops in the DC suburbs.
