Next Question Regarding Bar Ends

Hello Again!!!!

I have bar ends and I like to rest the inside of my palm (right under the thumb of each hand) on the ends of the bar ends), but I have brand new cycling gloves which have the main amount of padding on the pinky side of your palms. My old gloves had the same amount of padding on both sides and the new ones (Specialized 02 Pro Gloves) only have the padding on the one side.

This is directly from the description on Specialized' website.

"The Body Geometry glove concept is simple: get rid of the rest of the padding - which does nothing to address the actual problem, anyway - and concentrate it instead where it does the most good, dissipating pressure against the rider's ulnar and median nerves."

The problem is, since I do rest the OTHER portion of my palm on the bar ends, what can I put on the bar ends to add comfort. I know the obvious answer is "don't put your hands there" but that is not an option. I thought that maybe I could add a rubber end to each bar end**********? Any suggestions??? New gloves is also not an option because I have no more access to the credit card!!!!!!!

Has anyone ever tried any of these ? Look neat, are they gimmics or an amazing product ? I have never seen for sale in a shop

Newk's out of business, but thanks to urban_assault for finding this link: http://www.endless-innovations.com/recproducts.htm

I got a set for the hybrid and like these much much better than standard bar ends

Hey-

Try looking at the Lizard Skins website. I think I remember seeing bar end covers/padding in an old Nashbar catalogue. I'm pretty sure that lizard skins made them. Its worth a look. Good Luck!

Redhead,

If you can find Louis Garneau gloves I think that they
pad heavier than the performance or specialized gloves.
It may be a sign of senility but I do believe they
spoke specifically about padding around the thumb...

Lizard skins does make a neoprene bar end cover which may help.

You could also wrap the bar ends with handlebar tape. Hard core mountain bikers may point and snicker, but who cares?

OK I looked on the Lizard Skin website and I couldn't find anything that you mentioned. Could someone elaborate on that? Maybe a link? I would really appreciate it!!! :)

I went and looked at the Lizard Skins site, too. Maybe the item has been discontinued. Nashbar has them on sale at $7.95 US.

Hope that helps.

I know you already solved your problem... BUT!,

LP Composites make the best ERGONOMIC Barends on market!

They are the only reason that I'm not running a 3/4 CT2 Lo-Rise like every other freak on the trails these days...

Check Price-Point...$50.00 (Hours and Hours and Hours of comfort is really hard to put a price on...
