Honor ride

I did the Honor ride in St Petersburg FL yesterday. I did 39.4 miles with an average of 15 MPH. That is a real good pace for me as I am in the 12 - 13 MPH range. At the start they announced a Paralympian who holds many records. His name is Howie Sanborn. I was cruising along by myself at around the 32 mile mark when he came up along side of me. A real friendly guy who stayed along side me for a little way then it was like he hit the afterburner and was gone. It was a little on the humid side and I definitely did not hydrate enough as I really felt it the rest of the day. I have not been riding as much as I want to as the knee and hands have been acting up and I'm a little out of shape. Fun ride and I had a great time. Getting ready for the Tour de Cure coming up and I have already raised $300.00 Hopefully I'll be in a little better shape for that one.

Good luck with the next ride. We're having a typically humid February in Sydney at the moment. I have discovered the benefits of having an electrolyte drink at the end of a ride (slow learner). Freshens me right up.
