Look Keo cleat float
I need to replace my cleats. Right cleat is completely worn down. I bought the LOOK KEO 2 MAX pedals a long time ago and it came with cleats. Not sure which float option was sent with the pedals.
Which float option should I go with? See options in attached pic. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...26c4d0eb74.png |
What cleats do you have currently and do you like them or do you want less float? Those are questions we cannot answer for you as we have zero knowledge on what you have and what you like. What color are your cleats and that will get you a good start.

I have several pair of Keo's. Use exclusively grey. All mine have come with grey too.

Here's some pics. The cleat with the yellow spacers is completely worn. I honestly don't know if I want more or less float. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...3cb9a04587.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...667bc242d.jpeg |
One consideration if you go to the cleats with less (zero) float is that the angle you set the cleat at relative to the shoe and hence your foot can be very important. My knees are VERY sensitive to the exact angle of my cleats. (And they require that I set my cleats to force my feet to toe in.)
Not wanting float will put you in a small minority but it has its advocates. Lance Armstrong for one.. He raced LOOK Deltas with the black cleats for years on his Shimano equipped Treks (probably to the chagrin of Shimano) until Shimano came out with its SPD-SL pedals with similar cleat options to the LOOK Delta (and later Keo) pedals. Of course, before LOOK, every racer rode no-float cleats. Toeclips, straps and the aluminum slotted cleats that were usually nailed onto the shoe sole. There were no other race worthy options. |
Grey is medium float. I use them. They are the most commonly used and the “default” float. If they work for you get another pair.
