Nashbar spd cleats same as Shimano?
I bought some shimano m424 pedals off ebay but, they didn't come w/ the cleats. Nashbar has replacement cleats that are about half the cost of the Shimano cleats. They sure do look the same in the picture. Are they the same?

SPD = SPD, or they wouldn't be SPD. You are safe.

It looks like you can use the SH51, 52 or 55 cleat according to the
If these are the Nashbar cleats, then they are actually Wellgo 98A cleats, which are SH51 knockoffs.
A little googlin can go a long way for ya

Unique Vintage Steel
dobber's got the good 411. I believe most of nashbar's pedal selection is Wellgo's rebadged. My Rodeo pedals even have screws in them with Wellgo stamped in them.

As long as it is compatible with the m-51 cleat you should fine. That's kind of the standard cleat. It's probably the Wellgo 98a rebadged, which I have and have used it in a number of Shimano SPD pedals.

I wouldn't count on it, I tried getting some cheap pedals for my wifes Mtn bike from Nasbar, they were described as SPD pedals, but shimano cleats didn't fit.

I'm suddenly humbled!
I always thought SPD, SPD-R etc were the only differing models.
I've had and used a mix of Nashbar and Shimano for a while - 3 or 4 pedal sets and several cleats from both mfr's / sources and never had an issue, which is why I pulled the trigger on that ansewr.
Guess I just got lucky?
