One of these days you'll get the point. Maybe.
On second thought probably not.

I also found 5/10's to be too narrow at the toe box so went with this Specialized shoe:
Specialized flat
They run small though so get a size larger than you normally do.

Also worth noting, in case you find a pair of shoes you absolutely love.

Stealth (or other rubbers from the rock climbing side) is resole-able.

It'd be tricky on a pair of bike shoes. You probably won't be able to talk a resoler into trying it because they warranty their work.

You'd need to grind the sole flat with a belt sander and glue a new slab of dot rubber to the sole using heat and Barge cement or similar. A few strategically placed clamps, a few days, and some touch up on the belt sander and it should last a while. Never as long as the original but not bad.

if you want to try to talk a shop into doing the work, look at The Rubber Room, Rock n Resole, Rocky Mountain Resole, Yosemite Bum, or Pro Deal Resoles. No idea if they do but that'll get you started on your homework.

Did not find the Spesh shoes much better than the 5.10's. Worn and returned.

Ended up with Ozark Trail sandals from Walmart. Nice thick sole and rubber grips surprisingly well.

The 5.10’s have a dot tread pattern and soft rubber that let the pedals sink into the rubber. You feel almost glued to pedal but still easy to disengage and comfortable for walking. Wide NB runners tend to slip

Not sure if the NB comment was a response to me, but I mentioned "SKATE" shoes, not runners.
