Thousands of commuters in Lyon, France, are using pedal power instead of gas, under an ambitious new program that lets people rent bikes from public racks at low cost.

Sounds like a good idea in theory...we'll see how it works.

How about the people with tons of 'extra' bikes or 'retired' bikes that they never ride make donations to people in need :p

everytime i see someone that says they're 'retiring' their bike, i want to throw up.

Interesting stuff. That would be great in cities.
