Today I road the picket line

I just wanted to thank everyone for their advice I ended up with a simple sign made with the computer and ironed on an old shirt then cut out, hemmed, and pinned to the back of my red jersey. Today was wear your red shirt day, and the jersey was perfect. The sign simply said ON STRIKE. Our university is the only place around that is on strike, and the media has let everyone know we are out there. Our university is exactly a mile and a half around with some killer hills Up one way down the other, so I was able to rest before I had to climb the hills again. It seems that I was a morale booster, and that is what I wanted to achieve, and got a good 12 mile ride to boot.

I only had one bonehead pull in front of me, and that could have happened anywhere. I still don’t understand how someone can miss a 300 pound guy in blue spandex and a red cycling jersey with flashing lights on the front and back of the bike, then they get peeved when you yell at them. I found “Are You Awake Now?!” to be kind enough yet let them know they are screw ups. And Yes It Was An SUV Again.

Thanks for everyone’s support like anything this too will pass.

I didn't know you were on strike! Sounds like you made the best of it, though. I know how you feel. My wife's union threatened to go on strike right after she was hired in 2000, straight out of college. She was scared to death!

This being coal country, labor negotiations often involve caltrops and shotguns, so it could be worse, I guess. People here are constantly gossiping about how much money the coal miners make, but most of them aren't volunteering to go down a mine for ten hours to make the same wage.
