The grapes are getting ripe!
I just got back from a ride. The first thing I noticed when I started out tonight, was the aromatic hint of grapes ripening, as I passed the vineyards. The next few weeks will be heavenly!

I love riding past fruit groves and stuff. I was riding in Greece past a lemon tree grove, and the scent was absolutely delightful. You could almost squeeze the air and drop it into some sugar water and make homeade lemonade. Yum!

I say I have a keen sense of smell. My wife says I smell like a dog.

I like a glass of wine now and then, but nothing was said about wine or against beer. I just happen to live in a great climate for growing fruit.
I'll take a beer over wine anyday! Harp, Bass, Guinness, Bell's Porter... I could go on, but I just finished 30 miles and in walks my wife with some wine. Cheers!

True Shotgun....wine is fine.... and the smell is cool. We have a ton of wine grapes in my neck of the woods and biking through that not only smells great but the ride is just plain sweet!....
Again...just like I have my beer in hand now as I pen these words.....I'll think of that same beer as I bike through the grapes

They are starting the tobacco harvest around here, and shortly it will be in the smoking barns. I'm not a smoker, but I do love that smell when it's curing.

Up in Oregon recently, I was surprised by the presence of lavender. Now my favorite scent, since being introduced to it's odor when riding up the easy approach to Mt. Ventoux.
Grapes or citrus is next. But, citrus we have to wait until May.

Well, here in the American South it gets so freaking hot, that you can literally almost smell a scorched smell on everything by the end of Summer. Nature just looks really tired and played out by the time Fall rolls around. In addition to that smell, leaves burning always makes me really feel it.
