old columbia river gorge hiway
There have been parts of the old Columbia River gorge hiway reopened to biking and hiking but I know that there are several miles of hiway from Arlington to Boardman Oregon.Of course the old road needs work but from what I can see it doesn't look to be in to bad of shape.(hard to tell from the freeway)
Who do we need to talk to about seeing this reopened? What is involved in getting this started?

I don't know, but it would be pretty awesome to be able to ride up there. Of course, it will always be shared use trails because the place is just to much of an attraction. I looked for some info on this a while back, but I don't remember what I found. If I weren't on dialup at my parents for the weekend, I'd try to find some info.

I think it would make for an awsome ride.I know that there has been alot of the old road underwater but over by Arlington you can see miles of it going twards Boardman. It also does not look that hilly.but it also is not the pretty green tree covered land that most people think of when thinking of Oregon and Washington.
I also would agree that it would have to be an multi use facillity.I just think for the most part it would be bicyclist that use it.
Anyway let me know what ya find or think.
Thanks
