Well, what do you think?

I went for a more colorful look this time, the old black / white / grey was just too depressing! I have also updated the forum software, this new software is amazing, it will probably take you a week or two to figure out all the new features, just a few of the new features include a buddy list, a ignore list, polls, attachments, a user control panel, a re-designed search, a calendar, faster download of pages, private messaging, spell checking, avatars, and soooo much more!

I hope you enjoy the new update, if you find any bugs, layout problems, or want things changed, please let me know by posting in this thread!

dosent look like it Im adding a BUNCH of avatars to the forums right now. Are you trying to upload one from your HD? or a Website? The max size is 5k with max dimensions of 32x32. I know its small, but i want to keep the forums fast for modem users

A few answers:

I have received quite a few PM's today, most with the same basic questions, so im going to post the answers here.

Q: Where did my post count go?
A: Put your mouse over your username in a post, you should see a text popup with your Post Count, Location, and Date Registered.

Q: Why is my username always red?
A: If the username in the post is red, that means that the user is currently on the forums. However, if the user has set themself as "invisible" they will not show up on the "whos online list" and there name will be black when online.

Q: Can i link to attached images on my website?
A: No, please do not link any of the attached images, or avatar icons. If i find that this becomes a problem, i will remove those features.

Q: What happened to the post icons? (thumbs up / down / question ect) and post titles?
A: These have both been removed, I didnt think they were needed for this forum, this will also speed up page download time, and keep each page shorter in length.

Q: How do i become a Senior Member?
A: Member titles are based on your post count, currently it is setup that users under 5 posts are newbies, users with 25 or less posts are Junior Members, users with 50 or less posts, are Members, users with 100 or less posts are Senior Members, and if you have more then 100 posts, you can set your own user title in your profile (you must have 100 posts and be registered for 30 days).

Q: You mentioned co-branding these forums with other websites, when are you going to offer this?
A: Very soon, but not within the next week. If you have a website, and would like these forums on it with your own color layout, PM me.

If you have any questions on the new software, please ask.

nice appearance, am getting do you want to debug message on screen (runtime error), but I say yes a couple of times and it disappears. Will play with this when I have time (or get back on the bike, Ohio being unkind to gentle riders)

I did some more updating today... Including a new header and footer, i gave the site some more color, a little darker on the top and bottom, with a new logo. I also changed around the links at the top. I removed the [Home] link and replaced it with a [Shop] link. The [Shop] link will open a new window for PerformanceBike.Com.

I have chosen Performance Bike as my affiliate program partner because i have had very good service when ordering from them, and they have great prices. Everytime an order is made at Performance Bike when the click came from my site, i get 5% of the sell price, you dont have higher prices, you recive the same price. As some of you remember, for the last few months i have had a banner at the top and bottom of each page, this replaces the banner. The pages should download faster becouse of it, and im hoping that this program can cover my hosting costs for this site (I have already invested over $700 into this site +$50 a month for hosting).

As for the old [Home] link, you can now click on the BikeForums.Com logo in the top left corner to get to the main index page at BFC.

If you have any questions / comments, please let me know
