Riding with a new friend

Today I had the opportunity to ride with a new friend, Paul. He asked if i'd like to go for a ride, so we went, I'm always up for a ride. We got out on the Greenway and I noticed he kept looking at his watch, then i saw it was his HRM. I asked about it. He replied he had to be careful as he'd undergone quadriple bi-pass surgery right after Memorial day. I sort of freaked a little, hoping that my speed wouldn't make this man drop dead. We did the Greenway loop, about 17 miles, and did it at a nice pace. I was on a fixed gear, so that gave us some to talk about as well as my best friend who died three months after his triple bi-pass. I was left wondering had I moved out to Ocean shores with a couple bikes, and got Larry riding, he might still be around today. I look forward to riding with the new friend. I've been working on getting a group ride together, we have three people at the core. It's a fun ride, and a fun group of people. Paul's going to try and join us this Saturday.

Good going! Hopefully your friend Paul will make a full recovery. Keep riding with him and let the miles do the rest.
