I inadvertantly crashed some type of cycling event today heading westbound on Dillon Road in the hills north of Palm Springs. It wasn't the Furnace Creek 508, because that ended up in Joshua Tree. There were lots and lots of support vehicles, but none of them were marked. And almost all of the riders seemed to be from South American countries. And support vehicles kept trying to insist, in Spanish, that I *please* take some of their agua! Down near Desert Hot Springs, there was something that looked like some type of rest stop (or was it a finish?), with a video camera recording arriving riders, and they desperately tried to wave me in (with lots of yelling in Spanish that I just didn't comprendo) and seemed genuinely puzzled when I kept on going.

Any clues what this was? The cyclists seemed fairly elite (unlike me).
