Bicycle fit
Hi;
I have a question about fitting that I hope can be answered here. I bought a Motobecane Grand Touring in 1977, got fitted to the bike, and took home a beautiful bike with a 23 inch frame. Never had a problem riding it, etc. Fast forward nearly 30 years later, I'm looking at a used Motobecane to ride while I make some repairs to my bike, and it's the same size. But I go online to check out proper fitting, and it turns out, according to the online instructions, that I should be riding a 21 inch frame.
Huh?
Does anybody have any thoughts about this? As I said, I've never felt that my Moto was too big for me, but then again, what do I know? One interesting thing-- I **used to** think I was 5'10". I re-measured a couple of years ago, and I'm actually 5'8"-- a two inch difference, same as the bike size. Could it be that the shop sold me a bike based on my perceived height? The counter to that is that I definitely remember being fit to the bike-- checking out crank length, saddle height, handlebar position, etc.
Any thoughts?

The tendency now is to fit to smaller size bikes. Go with what's comfortable for you.
