....yawn....
Sorry, hope you were able to stifle the urge ;)
Somehow today the topic of yawning came up during a casual discussion. The word yawn is very much like the "You Can't Lick Your Elbow" statement, seems as soon as you hear either expression, you become actively involved in the very act. Alright, I can see from your reflection in the monitor that you are becoming bored with my tiring drivel so I'll get to the point. I'm not sure if yawning satisfies a physical or pyschological need, but cycling does seem to scratch the same itch and drastically reduce the tendency to yawn. Have you noticed a corelation between the amount of cycling you do and the number of times you yawn? |
*yawn*

Yawning is relaxing of the muscles with which you breathe, and I guess cycling is in no way relaxing for your breathing muscles. ;)

This is way too deep for me.:p

does yawning actually help relieve fatigue? i mean the mental kind here, not the muscle kind. i mean the general idea that floats around is that when you yawn it makes you less tired. but i've never seen any physiological or neurological evidence to back that up.
PS i tried to lick my elbow. it should probably be possible with short arms and a LONG tongue ;) |
I think i've heard somewhere that you yawn when your brain isn't getting enough oxygen. I don't know if this is true. *yawn*
Stew:rolleyes: |
Anybody else here need to pee?
