Help! Clipless adaptable pedals??

Hello. I have a trek 7300 FX and the specs say it has 'clipless adaptable pedals'. I have not been able to find any information on what exactly that means. How do I adapt them????

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I'm assuming they have the bindings for SPD cleats to fit in.

That means you can instll clipless pedals on the crank arm. Kind of oxymoranic since all cotterless crank arms have 9/16"x24tpi pedal threading.

I think it means that you can use SPD shoes on one side, and uncleated street shoes on the other side of the pedal.

Finally found this page again... he he. When I purchased the bike and read the specs I thought 'clipless adaptable' meant I could use SPD shoes on one side (like some of you said). I didn't pay too much attention since I wasn't ready to get SPD shoes yet.

So, when I wanted to buy cycling shoes I looked at the pedals and quickly saw this was not the case or I had no idea how clipless pedals worked. (Yeah, I really hadn't ever looked at the pedals before and I'm very new to cycling ... lol!). So, I either the bike shop switched the pedals on me, or all 'clipless adaptable' means is that I can install clipless pedals (like DieselDan said).

Thanks for all of your responses!
