Any goals for 2006?

Mine:
Ride 244 days out of 365
100 K solo ride in under 3hrs
Spend MUCH less $ on cycling
Try to catch up to a few guys my age (45) who have been beating me in XC races.
Build a frame

Two major goals with far-reaching impacts. Both are cycling-related.
Can't discuss them at this time.

Stay tuned.

Racing at the velodrome...

...and to be happier. But I'm not going to get all excited about it, just in case it doesn't happen.

1. Simplify simplify simplify....

2. Try to spend more money on new and interesting experiences and less on junk that I don't need.

3. Remind myself that every day is 24 hours long, as was my wedding day, the day my daughter was born and every other memorable day. Tommorrow will also have 24 hours in it and I need to try to spend those 24 hours wisely and enjoy them.

4. Oh....and shooting for 2500 miles in the saddle.

get rid of a lot of material posessions, ride my bike aimlessly in an Eastward direction, and teach myself how to make a good Cornish pasty.

Ride as much as possible. Lose 5# per month all year long. Hook up with the movie star of my choice. FINISH my second book. Know as much about bicycles as sydney used to know (more likely to hook up with the movie star than this!!).

Well first spend the first couple weeks losing the weight (6lbs)that I just gained back this Christmas season after spending 3 weeks losing it before I came home from college. Find a nice but cheap bike to buy before it warms up. After the semester, I really want to get started in some mini tours since I'm new to the whole thing. Just have fun and live life to the fullest.

  1. I want to ride 1000 miles
  2. Ride a metric century
  3. Spend more time with my family
  4. Loose more weight than I gain
  5. Inhale at least one more times than I exhale.

That is about it.

Adding - Ride way more than 2005. That applies to both dirt and road.
- get a computer so I can start keeping accurate track of my distance.

My biggest goal is to figure out how to balance cycling and marriage. It's not easy to do but I am working on it. I have started doing all of my gym workouts in the mornings before work. This allows me to spend more time at home with my wife in the evenings.

My other goal is to improve as a cyclist. I am hoping to get some top three finishes in sport class this year and hopefully improve enough to move up to expert for 2007. I would like to enter a few road races as well. I am also hoping to get in a minimum of 550 hours of total training time including gym time. Other than that I would like to get 4,500 miles which would be approximately 1,000 more than this past year.
