I like the wussy flavored stuff :) I like the tast of regular or decaf but it has to be weak ( OOOOH! ;) ) and have loads of sugar and milk. I like the slightly nutty tast, but I have to kill the bitter taste. Don't like caffeine and pretty much completely avoid it. Except for chocolate. Don't mess with my chocolate.

I will probably be kicked off the Forums for this, but...

When I smoked, my favorite were Turkish cigarettes. Wo! Strong, but lower in nicotine, so you could just chain-smoke them (if you could afford the cost.) Man, my lungs gave out before I was ready to quit!

I also smoked those "Drum" hand-rolled jobs. (Picked up that habit in Brisbane, Australia.) Absolutely the best, but just one or two would make your head spin around...

But now, I only smoke Diesel fuel... :crash:

(I am so glad Nicotine is absent from my spirit, now. I prefer good old Earth's fresh atmosphere, especially as it wafts through the forests, or comes off the sea... :) )

I never drank coffee until after college. For many years it was 5 - 6 cups a day. Then I started with the espresso fix. Presently I am able to survive on one or two 8oz. cups in the morning. I've found that if I drink any coffee after lunch, it will affect how I sleep that evening... (It keeps a guy 'regular' it can't be all bad). :D

Actually this guy I lived with had his parents send him cartons upon cartons of turkish marlboros (I guess they use domestic tobacco for them), and I remember him saying that the cartons cost him something like 10 million turkish lyra per, ($6-7us) at the time.

I drink several cups a day just fore the taste. The caffene seems to have no effect. I like both the regular and the caffene free - can't tell the difference. I can fall asleep drinking a cup. I used to drink more, but subsituted water instead. As long as I have a cup of something I'm happy.

A lot of coffee drinkers on this forum. I may drink a mocha once every three months, and maybe have a soda once a year, but that is it as far as liquid caffine goes. Now some of the powergels I have, have caffine, and man those things get me going. Rarely having caffine makes me very sensitive to it when I do have it.

I drink water, milk and lemonade. About a gallon of each everyday (yes, the urinal is my friend). :)

Coffee, the nectar of the gods. I love the stuff, preffering fresh ground to cannned stuff any day. I don't drink it by the cup, usually the pots. But I make half pots so the coffee doesn't sit around and burn.

I do not reduce the number of cups, I just reduce the amount of coffee powder in the spoon, when I load the coffee machine.

I use the classic formula: 1 spoon per cup + 1 spoon for the coffee machine.

But I load about 30% of the spoon. It allows me to keep the habit and reduce the caffeine intake.

I have two cups when I first wake up in the morning and then green tea if I need a boost during the day. If you are having a tough time getting through the afternoon, it may have to do with what you eat for lunch. Stay away from carbs or combine them with more protein and you may find that you do not need the coffee. Carbs raise your glucose levels, which raises your insulin levels, which ultimately lowers your glucose levels. It is a vicious cycle.
