Servus!
I read mention of Missy Giove's pirahna and was reminided of the bits of good luck that I wear while riding. What is that trinket or charm that you make sure that you never leave the house with? Any good stories of being thrown from your ride for forgetting to don your mojo? |
I don't have a "mojo", but I do say a prayer. I say, "God, protect me out there on the road."
 |
I have to agree with Pete. No "mojo" hear the Lord watches over me when I am out and it's a good thing too, considering what I have done to myself on bikes over the years.
|
No mojo wearing here but I noticed youre from Karlsruhe. My family is from there. I also have a cousin who lives in Durloch. Just posted in to say Hallo!
|
I wear a Buddhist wrist rosary, but for mojo I'd have to nominate the cell phone in my fanny pack.

Ya, Jon, my next vote was gonna be my helmet!

I carry a cross in my saddle bag.

I wear a CTR (Choose the right) ring.

I'm pretty superstitious about bringing the key to the chain lock.
The one time I forgot it I had to walk home to get it...Coincidence? I think not! c~ |
One time I did a dumb thing. I forgot the house key, usually on a keychain under my saddle. I had a really interesting time sitting on the front porch watching the neighborhood activities while waiting for the wife to get home from work.
I didn't know the house key was a mojo? Ron |
My Mojo is an Ibis.
|
i have a little bitty(about the size of a thumbnail) green rubber lizard.
he's attached to my bike on the top tube...looking down at him reminds be to be like a lizard on the trail; adaptable and quick. |

Sometimes on a long trip I can do a Rosary on my fingers. (Hard to fiddle with the beads on the road.)

Just got back from a ride, and I was thinking about all the riders' mojos. Just guess what song I repeated over and over and over again:
"I got my mojo woikin' but it just won't woik on you" (Muddy Waters) Oscar's 50th post, ladies and gentlemen. |
Oscar, that song always comes to my mind when I hear about mojos. Having led an unusually sheltered life, the first time I heard the word was when Muddy Waters sang it.

I stopped at an intersection and found a small "Gumby" doll leaning against the kerb, waving at me. The goofy green cartoon adventurer has been in my tool bag ever since.
|
I found a three-inch stuffed teddy bear once that had been squished flat by truck wheels. After extensive CPR he was well enough to take up residence on my office desk and cheer me through the final hellish years of work before I (yea! yea!) retired.

Welcome back Cambronne!

Stuffed teddy bears reminds me of a roadside find. I also saw one, picked it up an pocketed it. On the way home from the ride it rained cats & dogs. My buddies and I were soaked for 1 1/2 hour.
The bear was dry, and I gave it to my daughter. She was 9 then, and goofy over little trinkets. It's in the house somewhere. |
