I ride at least twice a week for 50 miles or more. I always bring a change of clothes and always change into them after a ride. It always feel so good. In addition, I'm sure I'm reducing my chance of saddle sores by making the environment less hospitable to bacteria.

Ever noticed how speedo wearers are never the type who should waer one, the belly pots, the hairy backs.. speedos are for Olympic swimmers.. They are are good concept.. put a guy on the beach with a tight outfit and surf and drink all around him, but the truth is it never works out that way.. speedos are like the skin on the bologna, it permits you to see things they dont even show you in x-rated movies but not on the type of body you would ever care to watch. you wouldnt wear black marks under your eyes like a football player if you dont play football... let's leave the proper attirement for the proper occasion.. I wouldnt wear my tennis skirt and bring my tennis racket in the office, ( although it might be a welcome idea to my co worker)
Imagine a doctor out with family in a restaurant with one pint of blood in my hand and his surgical mask ordering a 12 oz sirloin cooked rare please. Imagine a date with a non cycler bring you to the movies waering spandex.. hummm.. So unless you plan to start waering your suit and tie while out of the office to ride your bike, Id say lose the spandex shorts while In the office.. Anyone else ever see things that makes them go hummmmm?

I think if I took my shorts in public, I would get arrested - commando you know. So, I leave them on for the entire ride.

Mine comes off as soon as I get home. They get thrown into the laundry pile where my cats will sieze the opportunity to roll around in them. This disturbs me to no end but then again, we are talking about animals who are accustomed to licking their own butts and then using the same tongue to bathe themselves.
