How long is TOO LONG to keep a pair of bike shorts on ? I live in mine sleep, eat, go to work in them. There are times that 2-3 weeks in same pair of shorts is excessive. What do you do ?

I would hope that no one else is wearing my shorts. Would you like me to edit that title?

If you mean the padded kind of bike shorts, yours must be incredibly stinky.

Now I was assuming there was not much cleaning in the process. If you mean that you clean them frequently (like after every use or every two) and just use one pair, then thats OK. But no cleaning and wearing for 2-3 weeks and a chamois pad, I do not want to know what could be growing there.

2-3 weeks on same shorts....I seriously HOPE you don't mean without washing for an entire 2-3 weeks. Bike shorts are like underwear....and you sweat worse in them. You'll give yourself self-induced herpies or something if you don't wash them man!

Unless you're planning to break the record of wearing the same underwear for the longest time, I suggest getting multiple pairs of shorts.

It's obvious that you don't have a girlfriend or wife. She would have answered the question long ago. Don't be such a tightwad.

You've got a good deal more time before you need to worry as long as you are also keeping them on when you shower.

Fleutz,

I'm no expert on these matters, so let's run a little experiment. Let the three weeks elapse next time and just keep wearing them. Let's find out what external impetus compels you to change. . .say, a health issue [your's or other's], your dog or canary falling dead in her tracks, EPA agents hammering on your door of a midnight, the spectacle of their miraculous departure into the aether as by a hand-unseen.

And DO let us know.

He would be sleeping on the patio or balcony.

Seriously, don't wear bike shorts all the time. It causes nightmarish flashbacks of the 80s lycra/spandex fad for some of us.

I'm guessing you wore your cub scout uniform every day to school and when you were older you wore your band uniform every day to jr and sr high school.
