Cyclist killed by bus on UNC campus

Apparently, the bus was carrying the Boston College basketball team somewhere on North Carolina's campus. Naturally, no one on the bus was injured. But the cyclist got aced.

You are crazy.......Read closely . Being somewhat familiar with the area I would guess around 10 miles from the campus. You people are amazing. Quit trying to read " poor pitiful cyclist" into everything..........the cyclist was at fault

From TFA: "A charter bus carrying the Boston College basketball team struck a bicycle Tuesday, killing the rider, Chapel Hill police said."

How is that reading "poor pitiful cyclist" into it, *******?

Ummmm...where did the article state that the cyclist was at fault? I didn't see anything about it being ANYONE'S fault, and I am quite sure I can read.

How do you get that from the story linked? The headline reads "Bus carrying B.C. hoops team kills bicyclist on UNC campus" and has no information at all about what happened, other that it was on hwy 54. A simple view of Google Maps shows that hwy 54 is also known as Raleigh Road and goes right through the middle of campus. And how could possibly know the bicyclist was at fault, without having some other information other than the linked story?

I'm not assuming that the bus driver was at fault, or that this was anything but an accident. Can't tell with what the story contains-- but you look to be nothing more than a troll, as your comments seem baseless at this point. Please provide a link or two.

Was the accident at night? On a windy, twisty, narrow road?

The News and Observer story says that the accident happened on 54 near Littlejohn road--which is about a mile or two east of campus.

It was at night, on a four-lane highway with typically incredibly high speeds. (55-60); I wouldn't ride 54, generally speaking, under almost any circumstances.
