Active duty military. 19 years and counting. Within that, I've done education (instructor) and administrative stuff (Personnel Officer, for example) as well as a bunch of other stuff.

Oh yeah, my goal? After I retire from the Navy, I want to be a professional ski (and bike) bum.

There are only two on that list I haven't done or been educated in:

Medical/health related
Public Service - police, fire, etc.

I've got certification in Engineering Technology, and Software Development. I've got my Business Administration diploma with an Accounting Major, and I'm currently partway through my Bachelor of Education.

I've worked as a fruit picker, in numerous different sales positions, in childcare, in various offices, in a warehouse, for Canada Post, as an Engineering Technician, and most recently I work in a factory.

My goal? I want to travel the world and teach. Then later, I'd like to settle down somewhere and teach in a business school of some sort.

- good for you! remember, there is light at the end of the tunnel!

(i did 20 years and 10 days... i'll never forget a Quartermaster i worked with in the late 70s... he enlisted in 1937! that was when there was no forced retirement at 30 and one was allowed to be a 'professional private')

I picked "skilled trade" as the closest fit - I'm a photographer. Seeing that I'm self-employed, my big career goal right now is to have a few bucks left over after paying the bills and paying off the debt I acquired buying equipment. Heck, some months I would settle for just paying the bills, never mind leftover cash!

I don't wanna sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. I don't wanna sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed. Or process anything sold, bought or processed. Or repair anything sold, bought or processed.
I call myself a packet plumber but other people call me a network architect/engineer.

Anesthesiologist.

Goal: to retire at 45. With the way the market is for anesthesiologists now, though, I'd stay in it as long as it stays good (~$35k/month).

Danno, are you going to be self-employed then?

My short term goal is college of course, BSU > ISU. I'm going for pharmacy. It's a job that is very dear to the family history. My grandmother/grandfather were pharamacists, their parents were pharmacists, and their parents and their parents and their parents and their parents. Ect. All back in New Jersey. I also tend to move up Home, Sun Valley, Idaho for the rest of my life.

Along with that I'll be pursuing a professional biking career/olympic team. I also will be a major outdoor enthusiast. Backpack/mountain climb/bike tour the world. Plus my love for science obviously will be there too. I want to try some sort of art or another and enjoy it. (Pottery, glassmaking, wood carving, welding). I want to build a bike from scratch.

Most important thing is to grow with my church and keep a strong faith in God.

Yes these are life goals but they are relative.

Danno I keep picturing Chevy Chase's character from Caddy Shack.

Personally, I work as a government minion not to satisfy my ego, but my need for food and shelter. I find my career minded brother's life, while economically rich, to be dirt poor in every other facet of life. Be something other than your job, folks.
