I picked distance as it's a navaid for me. Time-of-day comes in second because if I don't keep track of that and neglect my other obligations then life starts becoming uncomfortable. But I can always reference an external source for time whereas an onboard odometer is what I truly need to track my location.

ave heart rate. everything else i can figure out, but not HR

Wow, I can't believe distance is so popular. I virtually never look at it. In fact I almost never reset it, so if I do look at it it's always reading like 350 miles .
I only wanted 2 features when I got a computer: clock and MPH. Clock because I need to know how late I'm gonna be :o and MPH because I was curious. |

distance.
but in fifteen years of cycling, i've only had a computer for a month or so. so that may change. |
I use distance. I like to know how far I've gone. But really, over the years, I can pretty much tell the cadence and distance without even using a bike computer. You just kind of get the feel for it.

For me, the most important function would be the time as I hate to wear a watch while riding. All other functions on my computer are just there for entertainment...:)

Max Speed.
I'm still trying to beat my top speed of 50 mph. Gravity, it's not just a good idea, it's the law! Enjoy |

I would probably say that i use time and trip time the most. I often look at trip time to see how long i have been riding, then i look at the clock to see how much longer i can ride. Sort of sad really, that we live in this world where we have no time for leisure. At least not enough! |
1. Speed So that I know how fast I'm going.
2. Trip Distance So that I know how far I've gone on each ride. 3. Total Odometer So that I'm able to keep track of the total number of miles. |
cadence, it's the only thing that still functions on my computer.
|
Total odo, I could calculate each trip distance myself
