Big Boy Bike
Have any of you noticed that little kids get really excited when they see an adult riding a bicycle? This morning I rode through the county park, when a little boy of about 3-4 years old saw me. The kid started yelling, " Mom! Mom! Look! Big boy bike! Big boy bike!
Just about every time I go out, some little kid will try to race me on his bike or they'll wave, etc.

I met my wife at my son's school Tuesday (got out of jury duty) and every kid was gawking at my bike(and maybe my kit). I felt like I was on stage as I was removing the front wheel and loading the bike into my van, clamping the front wheel into the vise and stashing the wheel behind an unused seatbelt, cradling it between the board holding the vise and a seat hinge.
Almost everykid there starting asking me about how the QR works, why the special shorts and shoes, how do those strange pedals work, and how fast can I go on that bike? The prinicipal had to come over and break up the crowd.

I took my new bike out for its maiden voyage this afternoon along the Great River Trail. When I passed the playground, my bicycle was a hit. The kids ran towards the trail yelling look. Even the kid on top of the bars stopped to look, but I was glad he did not wave, because the wind was ferocious.
