Riding in dusk or night
 

Whenever I go riding at night, or dusk, I always feel like I am going much faster. I am pretty sure its just in my mind, does anybody else experience the same?

absolutely...you can't see as far so things come at you quicker. The illusion is startling.

I like it a lot, but it can be dicey going too fast.

Funny this topic should come up. Just got back from a 43 mph descent in darkness. That felt wicked fast (I have an HID so I had plenty of light) but for some reason the descent seemed longer than usual. The city lights on the other side of the hill turned the clouds an eery red and and the way the clouds were shaped looked like bones across the sky, it was pretty wild.

Stuff definitely comes at my more quickly in the pre-dawn portion of my commute, even with great lighting. My average speed goes up considerably in the pm/daylight end of my commute.
