Here's another good link:

So how many terrorists print up stickers to label their bombs anyway? Maybe the "public servant" who discovered it should have spent more time learning critical thinking skills in school. And who reads the stickers on bikes at 5:30 am?
Good thing he wasn't on patrol when the band Anthrax had t-shirts everywhere in the 1980s!

That is crazy. I'd say we can be officially classified as a "fear-based society". This fear was brewing for a long time, but I contend that our Government knew about 9/11, and let it happen. This FEAR attitude is exactly what the Pentagon wants, as a pretext for military presence in the Mideast. Sorry if this got a little off the subject.

Guys I served with in basic training were exposed to real bicycle bombs in 'Nam. Yes, terrorists or "freedom fighters" would not lable a bomb. The vietcong did not. Did the emergencies services do the right things? Yes. Would I have charged the bike owner with a misdemeanor? No, after an over night stay in a holding cell. Some things are not funny. About like yelling FIRE in a crowded theater.

yeah it doesn't make sense
but in todays society...if you put a sticker up that says
this...you are a moron and should be slapped upside the head.
it's like yelling fire in a theater.

The whole "fire in a theater" cliche is over-used and rarely accurate. This situation is more akin to yelling "fire" and having everyone look around and notice they are in an outdoor swimming pool. If they were to panic they would be stupid.
The guy was arrested for inducing panic; heck I once farted in a crowded room and induced panic... The the whole fire analogy implies that pedestrians walking by would see the sticker and run around in circles tearing their hair out waiting to die. The only one who induced panic was an obviously delusionally paranoid cop with a save-the-world complex. I'll bet he's a joy to have as a dad. This is the same kind of guy who after 9/11 would've thought the planes were coming for his little town of Athens, Ohio next. Dude, you're barely on the world map, no one is going to blow anyone up in your town unless they're a meth head.
I really do wonder if you could get away with wearing an Anthrax t-shirt nowadays. If I lived there I would get a bunch of those stickers and have some fun.

"I think the response was an appropriate one," Hogan said.
If that was my bike, I would've told this guy to cram it with walnuts. And a competent bomb squad should've known better.

- but honestly while we can joke about this, think what would happen if you put the same decal on a piece of your luggage before going through airport security at Cincinnati International Airport?
