replace panaracer hiroads with...?
Well, I certainly got my money's worth with the 26x1.75 Panaracer Hiroads. I use them on my rainbike. They're not made anymore, apparently. what's a good replacement for these guys? They are almost-slick with a slight cut-out tread on the chines and really good for paved trails.

You said Paved Trails. If it is paved is it a trail? Given a smooth surface without loose rock, gravel, and dirt-mud I have been happy with completely smooth tires on my MTB. Especially when I am commuting. I was keeping up with a true Roadie once and he thought a car was coming up behind us. "Sorry," I said, "that is just the tread noise from my tires." Pedal energy is wasted making noise. Lots of company make narrow and slick 26" tires. Hutchinson is a popular brand locally. Consider finding 5 or 6 brands then set up a poll here to see what is the most used brand.
