Pedalling and bikes in Dreams

For a long time bikes have been in my dreams usually road bikes rarely MTBs and for the very first time last night, a recumbent. The common theme in all the dreams is the almost total absence of normal rotary pedalling. Sometimes I can only flex my ankles, sometimes a walking in place motion, often by power of mind like flying, but reciprocating-rotary pedalling no. Do you dream of bikes? and what kind? and how do you get them to move?

I dream of biking often. Usually clearing a section of trail I can't clean. Sometimes doing something that I can't do. I tend to manual a lot in my dreams even though in real life I can't manual.

For me it always feels like freedom. Freedom from work and any real concerns. Just me my bike and the dirt.

I dream of touring a lot, usually where I'm heading towards some town out in the desert. I stop to check my map a few times, the weather is really really nice, and I'm looking forward to lunch. mmmmm

My bicycles are definitely in my dreams. For some reason, I'm usually riding very long distances on them! The only thing that makes me know that I'm just dreaming and not experiencing it in real life is that I'm really fast in my dreams!!

I don't have bike dreams other than perhaps dreams of visiting an LBS with a wad of cash. For those of you who do, how about wearing your heart rate monitor overnight and report the results?

yes, i've had a quite a few bike dreams. One recurring one is that I want to go for a ride and all these things get in the way, and then the sun starts to set. In this dream it's usually springtime, when the sun sets relatively early. I've had a few other dreams about going out on my bike and worrying that it's not tuned up.

My only bike related dreams have involved bikes (or bike parts) being stolen T_T

During last year's TDF I dreamt that I was riding alongside Lance Armstrong (as a spectatior, not as a competitor) on my 50+ pound commuter bike up one of the big climbs encouraging him along as we dropped the rest of the field...... hey, it was a dream

hahah... sometimes that happens to me when I'm drifting off to sleep, usually on a day when I've been riding. You get that sort of vertigo feeling like you're riding or going down a hill and sort of jerk awake like a dog.
