Nice to see some people from the 'classical' side - bassoon, 'cello, etc. I'm an organist (y'know - the kind that has lots of pipes) and conduct a community choir as well as the church choir. Much better musician than cyclist.
Gave the community choir a bit of a problem the year before last when I was knocked off the bike and broke a collar-bone ten hours before the dress rehearsal for a concert two days later. Luckily a very capable young man was around who was brave (= foolhardy?) enough to successfully take on a concert that included music by Barber, Bernstein and Britten. (It didn't do much for my organ playing for a while either.)
Cheers

I play(ed) the electric bass. I played jazz, fusion, blues, southern rock, heavy metal and rock & roll. I really wanted to be a professional musician, but hated the lifestyle.
Now I just tinker with a four track recorder in my basement. I sold off all my heavy duty gear and left myself with a fretless Jazz Bass and an Ovation acoustic/electric six string guitar.
I miss playing with other musicians though, it was such a huge part of my life once...I'm going to cry now...
So, 59burst, what is your '59 sunburst guitar? (guessing that is what your moniker is refering to)

I play jazz guitar and harmonica. Studied guitar with "Sal Salvador" back in the 60's, and went on to be sideman in many jazz combos, mostly club work. Gave it up by mid-70's (professionally, that is) to concentrate on day job. Nowadays, play only for myself and friends.
Guitars: Gibson L-12 (1934); Martin JC-40 (1993); custom made acoustic archtop by William Johnston of Wolfe City, Texas (a violin/cello maker) (2000). This instrument has great potential (rivals the Gibson's sound) - 16"cutaway, solid bookmatched spruce top, solid bookmatched poplar back and sides, cello type tailpiece and bridge. The Gibson is one sweet instrument, though (probably due to it's age) - a string instrument's sound steadily improves after about 5 yrs. Also use a 4-track Tascam; and, of course, a Hohner 12-hole chromatic harmonica. Used to have numerous other axes and amps, but sold them; my wife complains now about the (3) guitars and (2) bikes (N.Y.C one bedroom apt.).
Also have a Nikon F-2 with numerous lenses, winders, finders and other thingamajigs with which I indulge my other passion, photography.

I play the drums. I have a Rolands V-Pro and Mapex Fusion set. I have played in three bands but I am only playing for fun now.
