I don't blame you. I saw a couple posters that thought I was a girl, too.
As for the people who still insists that motor assisted bicycles are mopeds, they are right, sorta. Mopeds developed from motor-assisted bicycles, and you can argue that mopeds ARE motor assisted bicycles, or vice versa, but the two forms have diverged a long time ago. Mopeds have always been pirmarilly powered by the motor, and the pedals are more or less secondary, and in alot of cases, are simply there cosmetically, to comply to some regulations. Motor-assisted bicycles(gas or electric) are just that, bicycles with motors attached to them, and primarilly poewered by the rider and the motor, well, assisting. Simply put, mopeds=motorcycles with pedals, Motorized-assisted bicycles=bicycles with motors. |
Super Cycles are FUN to ride!....I have the 70 CC engine Kit (chain drive , manual clutch, twist throttle etc)added to my Specialized Rockhopper.....with the 44 T rear sprocked I top out about 32 MPH (RPM limited....I thik I could go higher but engine sounds Buzzy there)....They make 36 Tooth sprockets for even higher top ends....I can't wait until they come out with the 3 speed Tranny!!!.....Only adds about 23 lbs to the bike....Way easier and more fun than a motorcycle...Can also pedal home for exercise if you want....If you are interested in knowing more Email me.
