cell phone holder

Bought one that attaches to your bar but the stupid thing broke before I could ever use it.

Seems like I saw one somewhere that just fits in your water bottle cage but now I can't find it. Anyone know who sells or makes these?

I may just cut the top off an old bottle, stuff it with some foam rubber and make my own. :)

Dragracer, you just may have started your own one-man industry: water bottle carriers for cell phones. When you perfect the design, I'd like to buy two.

Poppaspoke...........Quantity 2 $12.95 each... plus shipping....$31.14 TOTAL

Anyone else..........LOL!! :D

Dragracer,

Timbuk2 has a cell phone pouch available at Excel sports
Performance has a cell safe which is water bottle sized
and padded.
Topeak makes pouch that clips to either stem or seatpost
(also available at Performance).
If I had to I'd go with the hard case.
I just carry mine in back pocket (but then I ride road
only).
Hope this helps,

Marty

THANKS Marty!! The "Cell Safe" was the one I remember seeing but I may still just "roll my own". Could make one that sould work good enough for dang near nothing.

I don't think any of those @cellsafe would be practical when riding a bike. Both my wife and I carry the very small and light weight Nokia 8390, 3 3/4" long, 1 1/2" wide, 3/4" deep. Fits in my back jersey pocket or seat bag, has auto answer when using the long headset/control.

PERFECTO MUNDO! :P

I have a water bottle with a wider than normal opening. The cell phone fits in and the top will still screw on. It's one of the double wall ones that are supposed to keep the water cool longer, I put a bit of foam in it for additional protection in case I drop it.

You know what? I started a similar topic months ago( about 6 months) asking for opinions cus I wanted to design one that fits all size, but it seemed that no one really think there was a need for it. Now you do!

I have a cellphone case that you attach to your arm- the face is clear so you can see what number is coming through on your cellphone.

I also have a mic with an earpiece so I can plug the adapter part into the phone and run the wire through my sleeve and plug the earpiece into my ear. My phone is set to automatically answer when my earpiece is connected into the phone.

It's a sweet setup. I can talk whenever I want when I'm riding my bike.

Well I was digging around last night and found that I have one of those big-mouth bottles too. Phone fits easily in it. So I'll just get something to pad it with and I'll be good to go. I don't care about being able to see or use the phone while I'm riding. I just carry it in case of breakdown, or in case I get out too far and feel like I can't make it home(like before dark), or other problems. I'd never try to use or talk on it while I was riding. Bad enough seeing all the damn (car)drivers on the phone weaving all over the road and driving at erratic speeds. Personally I think cell phones should NOT be used while operating ANY vehicle unless there just is not any choice. Just my opinion....I could be wrong.

can someone tell me why you can't just put it in your jersey pocket and set your ring to a special tone if you are expecting a call from an important number or look at it when time permits?

just because a cell phone rings doesn't mean you have to answer it.

now back to your regularly scheduled programming

see article #91 or #117

I have not used either of these. I just stumbled across them on the WWW.
