Vanquish Eyewear Giveway

I got the new edition of Bicycling Magazine and there is an ad for a company called Vanquish Eyewear. Their web site says they are giving away sunglasses for the price of shipping and handling. Just curious, has anyone else heard of this? Is this a legit company? Has anyone used their products?

Thanks
Mike

Some company was doing the same thing a few years ago. Might be the same company. It was legit, but they were essentially selling an inexpensive pair of sunglasses, and the S/H cost covered their costs & a small profit.

The fact that P&H charges go up with the price of the sunglasses might be a clue. I'd like them to explain why the retail price of an item has anything to do with the cost of shipping.

Those sunglasses could maybe retail from $8-$23.00 a pair at Wal-Mart or in gas stations, but they could never command the retail prices these losers claim.

Something there isn't right when everything on the site is free. Makes me really nervous. I agree with what was said above.

After reading all the posts I went to their site. And I only went because my system used no Mircosoft products, has a firewall, and a variety of other security systems. I looked at the site and decided that anyone easy enough to actually buy from them would start getting hit with a whole series of dubious offers. Pass.

i tried these a couple years ago. they're just fine. cheapie sunglasses. used 'em for a year. definitely nothing fancy. the case they sent was cooler than the shades! :) when they were too scratched up, i threw them away. easy.

This operation (or one like it) has been around since the 1980s. It's a case of marketing (everyone likes to think they can get something for free.) You get what you pay for.....

Stay Away

I tried these out a couple of years ago and the glasses are crooked and cheap. Not only that, but it's the fact that you basically sign up to receive 2 more pair every 6 weeks or something which they try to hide and do so very well. Stay away.

I've bought them a couple times. Like others have said, they're just cheap sunglasses like the ones at gas stations. It's just like Bikes Direct, but with sunglasses. I liked the sunglasses I got from them; I think they have better styles than the ones that I find at gas stations, but the quality is the same. They don't sign you up to receive new sunglasses every six weeks and I have never noticed an increase in junk mail after ordering them (all I ever get is junk mail anyway, though). I think they are definitely worth it if you like the style of their sunglasses.
